We are blessed to have the kitsch Art Deco Picadilly Cinemas in the heart of the city, although it is a shame that the other inner city cinema complexes disappeared. With the now-established One Up Microcinema on William St, free films on the permanent screen in the Perth Cultural Centre, an increasingly community-friendly atmosphere at the Northbridge Piazza, private theatrette The Jaffa Room in East Perth and the Artrage pop-up rooftop cinema only days from opening, catching a flick in the city again is becoming a reality for Perth cinephiles. Love Dasha's idea about revitalising more of Perth's forgotten spaces by converting them into licensed microcinemas.

More Heavy Rail is needed. Trams are also a must but we need to have heavy rail to get people around the city

Even though this is a great method of reducing emissions in the city centre, I do not think that this is a good idea at the moment.

People will start walking less, becoming less active in the main commercial areas, also, it will create more traffic congestion and pollution as people find it hard to manage the new road rules with trams along side them in the day.

The trick is to keep people walking and staying active and not just relying on transport to see the city.

This is great idea, not only will it make the city look more attractive and green friendly, but, it will also open up another avenue for people pursuing an interest in environmentalism.

As good as Melbourne is wouldnt rave about the drive in from Tullamarine Airport very bleak
Perth could start with a couple of descent hotels near by the airport bulldoze the Marracoonda motel but dont make another carpark some sort of artwork signage may improve the drive but it will still be ordinary the International drive in could be developed with more trees and fauna.

You could start with the convention centre would take some redesigning but roof top bar/restaurant could offer great river views along with a vertical garden around the sides would go a long way to making the place attractive.

Another idea I have seen in Paris is a huge vertical garden which would look great on the convention centre could be watered from captured water and couldnt be that costly to get going.
