Help Support The Foundry Digital Media Hub

FORM is working in partnership with the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority to develop a fully integrated Digital Media Hub as part of Midland Atelier, WA’s first design and creative industries centre. Sitting alongside existing and planned design studios, the Hub will provide access to specialised equipment, co-working spaces, learning environments, programming, specialised support services and events. Its creation is a response to research indicating that WA loses more talent across all creative professions than it attracts.

The State Government has contributed significant physical infrastructure to the project but further investment is required. Federal funding is currently being sought but this requires community support (that means you) to show that the Hub is necessary and wanted.

FuturePerth accordingly invites its supporters to read the story behind the hub’s development and assist with form’s plight for funding by providing a statement of support:

Upcoming Site Tour – Fiona Stanley Hospital

As you know, FuturePerth runs tours of major development sites throughout Perth. We are excited to announce an upcoming tour of the new Fiona Stanley Hospital site in Murdoch. Be amongst the first to discover the design and construction elements of this $2 billion dollar project. The tour is free and spaces are strictly limited to twenty so please ensure your availability and access to PPE (personal protective equipment) prior to replying.

When: Tuesday 21 February 2012, 9:15-11:00am
Where: Fiona Stanley Hospital Site, BMC site office at carpark 102, off Murdoch Drive
Bring: PPE is essential: steel cap boots and high-visibility vest/top are required for entry. Cameras are allowed.

While it seems like only yesterday that FuturePerth was created, 2012 marks our fourth birthday… where did all that time go? We wish to extend a warm welcome to attend our 2012 AGM. This free event will showcase our recent success through presentations by the committee and give you the opportunity to discuss pertinent urban issues with like-minded people.

The Why Not? Project launch was held on Tuesday 9th of August in a historic building at 200 William St. Heralded as a success, the morning breakfast event attracted a crowd of approximately two hundred FuturePerth supporters and councillors from local government. Guests received a Why Not? Project booklet and had the opportunity to examine and make comment on our concepts. We were greatly assisted in running the event by the City of Perth, Urbis, The Herdsman and Kakulas Brothers.
